Development of DC-DC converter coupling 2 energy sources and load

The goal of this work is to integrate two energy sources and a load along with a feedback loop so as to maintain a regulated output even if the input source voltages fluctuates. This is done by introducing two types of DC-DC converters with dual input which are having bridge topologies. Among the two, first is a DC-DC converter with two input and second is the improved version of first. These two converters are capable of handing over power to the load simultaneously, from the input energy sources. A circuit topology to maintain constant output voltage on load side is developed by introducing a feedback loop for the improved converter. The comprehensive study of improved converter is made by conducting software simulation using MATLAB/Simulink platform for the buck, boost and buck - boost (above and below 0.5 duty ratio) modes of operation and required output is obtained. Certain merits of proposed converters are reduced number of components, miniature structure and efficient utilization of energy compared to existing converter topologies.
