Generalized Method of Analog Circuit Characteristic Function Analysis

A novel and simple method for calculation of poles in electrical systems has been presented, which enables us to obtain the characteristic function without any complex computations. To do this, the circuits have been decomposed to three basic networks; as will be discussed in the text and according to the networks, the characteristic equation will quickly be achieved. The main advantages of the proposed pole calculation method are its accuracy and generality. The poles can be calculated simply and precisely without any additional assumptions. It is applicable to all electrical systems containing resistors, capacitors, inductors, and even dependent sources. The examples used in this brief show the efficiency of the proposed method.
