Live Demonstration: Portable Bowel Sound Idenfication System

This live demonstration showcases a portable bowel sound identification system. The system consists of a charge amplifier interfaced with a piezoelectric sensor. An identification unit, consisting of peak and trough detectors, differentiators, integrators and comparators, combine to positively identify bowel sounds. The system has an 85% identification rate, uses 53 μW of power, and is implemented in a 0.96 mm
²
area. The designed system is suitable for integration with other sensing systems.
