Adaptive Mode Control in 4- and 17-Mode Fibers

Using adaptive optics, we experimentally demonstrate the ability to control linearly polarized modes in 4- and 17-mode fibers, where feedback is provided by the correlation between the experimentally captured intensity distribution and the theoretical profile of the desired mode. Selective excitations of high-order mixed orbital angular momentum modes are also shown.
