Improved N-continuous OFDM using adaptive power allocation

N-continuous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (NC-OFDM) is capable of mitigating the out-of-band radiation for OFDM signals, while degrading the transmission performance due to the interference from N-continuous pre-coder. In this paper, the interference caused by NC-OFDM is analyzed in terms of power distribution in the frequency domain. Furthermore, an improved NC-OFDM pre-coder aided by optimized subcarrier power allocation is proposed to suppress the interference to NC-OFDM systems. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve better bit error rate (BER) performance as well as comparable out-of-band suppression compared to the conventional NC-OFDM system.
