Design and optimization of large size conductor for submarine cable

This article introduces the design method of two kinds of large size conductor of submarine cable, through the theoretical calculation, the multi-program choice, according to the actual trial production process requirements, it can be seen that the use of circular wire circular compact structure can get a large amount of compression and the wire will be extended, but the diameter of circular wire is relatively large and rigid, large and more cracks will be seen, or even the circular wire be pulled off. The use of shaped wire circular compact structure, through optimizing the mould design, the compression required is smaller, lower requirements to the traction of stranding machine and can get higher compression factor, better water blocking effect. The program c is finally choiced, the large cross-section DC submarine cable problem is solved successfully, this article consider the problem of single line chammfering, but the effect of pitch on conductor do not take into account.
