Conceptual architecture of a collective intelligence system for the management of surgical services

Collective intelligence (CI) is a form of intelligence that is born of the interactions of a collective of individuals. This CI as a form of intelligence generates knowledge that can be classified as “successful” or “superior” since it is based on a consensus. The advances on information and communication technologies (ICT) in the last two decades have promoted the knowledge derived from this type of intelligence through the implementation of tools that facilitate the aforementioned interactions, such tools have been adopted and / or adapted in almost all economic, industrial and social sectors. For decades' healthcare has tried to develop information systems that allows to support the professionals in the decision making process, information handling and therefore knowledge management, however, the construction of a system that complies with such characteristics has not been possible due to various factors such as the complexity associated with the transmission of such knowledge. This research proposes a conceptual architecture that allows the implementation of a medical information system oriented to the management and generation of knowledge in surgical services by means of collective intelligence, for this purpose the most appropriate business architecture framework is identified, then some medical information systems architectural models are compared and finally propose a conceptual model that groups the key elements of these models around elements of collective intelligence.
