Magnetic field calculations and management of Kuwait HVTLs using the vector magnetic potential concept

This paper presents the analysis of the magnetic fields around the three-phase, double circuits, bundle conductors transmission lines existing in Kuwait. The concept of vector magnetic field potential, as extended to multiphase, multiconductor transmission lines, is used to calculate the magnetic flux density components around the mentioned systems. Graphs for magnetic field distribution at ground and at 1 meter height above ground level for different loading line currents are given. Management of the magnetic field for existing HVTL systems with expected field reductions is one of the subjects of this paper. Therefore, rephasing of the transmission lines for Kuwait's existing systems are evaluated based on the magnitude of the magnetic field reduction.
