SMS banking encryption scheme

Transactions provided by banks via SMS banking are very diverse, ranging from transfer, sale and purchase of goods, ticket payment, etc. Banking transaction is one of the most critical processes due to its risks. It needs a secure mechanism to support these transactions. Therefore, this paper proposes a security aspect scheme of data confidentiality (SMS encryption) for SMS banking using ElGamal algorithm. The results show that using ElGamal algorithm could improve the security aspect of SMS-based transactions as well as the compression process in mobile device. Unlike RSA, the uniqueness of ElGamal algorithm is the various of encrypted message which is produced from encryption process. This randomness feature gives more security support for delivered message. Encryption process consumes less than 2 KB data on memory with rational time delay less than 0.14 second. Average message compression time is 0.36 second and 0.35 for decompression process.
