Smart card reader APDU simulation using Zybo

Smart card is a kind of electronic identification card that it is being used widespread. Inside the smart card there is a micro circuit or better known as chip. It is usesd to transfer data quickly and reliably. When compared with magnetic-stripe card, contact smart card has advantages on larger memory size and better security in data communications. Something that need to be known is that smart card works as passive device which can't initiate information exchange processes. Thus the Card Acceptance Device (CAD) can do it using specific protocol described in ISO 7816. In this paper the authors will simulate the smart card reader system, its APDU part, using Zybo as a system- on-chip board.
