Design and implementation of hybrid energy system for DC load applications

Renewable energy such as sun energy has many advantages, but reversed its profits there is a weakness that is limited by the weather changes. Hybrid energy system (HES) [56] is a system that combines more than one energy source in order to increase the reliability if the system. Consequently, hybrid energy system is one way to overcome the weather changes, especially solar cells that erratic it suns intensity. Therefore, this paper presents hybrid energy system consisting of solar cells energy, PLN sources, and energy storage devices using batteries is used to supply DC load applications. Solar cells need DC-DC converter [2-4], which is used to convert dc voltage uncontrolled to be DC voltage controlled. DC-DC Converter that used is boost converter, which is used to increase the input voltage from a solar cells into a constant output voltage. Expected from this paper can be designing and implementing hybrid energy systems that are influential in the utilization of renewable sources of energy that are more environmentally friendly to DC load applications.
