Development of TI console framework for test automation of radio network controller

The main idea of this project is to develop an automation framework called TI (Test Image) Console that help to test Radio Network Controller (RNC) functionality. RNC is the main element in the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) radio access network. UMTS uses Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) as radio access scheme which is defined by third Generation Partnership Project. UMTS contains Node B and RNCs in the base stations. RNC is the point where encryption is done before data is sent to and from the mobile and carries out functions like radio resource management and mobility management functions. Manual performance analysis of RNC User Plane involves lot of repetitive process which consumes lot of time and money. Monitoring the performance parameters manually for long durations is a tedious process and sometimes leads to unintentional human errors. This project proposes a simple and easy method to automate the code analysis, test selection, execution, results analysis and deployment pipeline using TI Console. It is a Web-based interface to the development team to run SCT (System Component Test) test cases without involving SCT testers. All software coming out of development is SCT tested without any manual SCT effort. TI Console automation framework provides increased software quality without manual test effort.
