Magnification of ATC using optimally placed TCSC using RPF

Available transfer capability (ATC) is a quantity of transmission ability lasting in fleshly transmission network for additional profitable movement over and above the already committed use certain methodologies are to be developed to enhance the ATC of existing transmission lines. Flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices are inserted in electrical structures to magnification of ATC. Thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) is highly helpful in magnification of ATC of the transmission network by adjusting its reactance. The location and sizing of TCSC is the major issue in optimizing the optimal location and sizing of TCSC reactance. This paper uses recurring power flow (RPF) process for determination of ATC and Optimization technique was used to optimally place TCSC in the system. The efficiency of the projected way is validated on an IEEE 24-bus and 30-bus, 57-bus Reliability test structure in MATLAB.
