Low-power-consumtion pulse position modualtion laser transmitter

We propose a low-power-consumption pulse position modulation laser transmitter based on a gain-switched DFB laser biased below threshold and subsequent optical amplification. The gain-switched operation enables short pulse generation controlled by the driving signal with power consumption under 1 W.
