Is geo-engineering just geophysics in disguise?

There's a bit of a buzz around the topic of geo-engineering. The UK government's Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Committee has asked for submissions to its case study on engineering on this theme, and the Royal Society has published a special journal issue, against a background of rising public concern about climate change.
