Optimum sizing of storage and charging strategy for GridConnected photo-voltaic system

The requirement of energy storage via battery/EV is highly anticipated in occurrence of power outages. Other benefits include saving the money in buying peak time electricity and support the grid when grid power is deficit against the load demand. In this paper, optimum size of energy storage in a grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system is proposed. The methodology of energy flow decision is developed with the assessment on availability of PV output power and the load demand. The energy flow decision is changed according to peak and off peak hours to curtail the functional cost of the grid connected PV system with energy storage device. Intuitively, the numbers of electric vehicles that can be connected are determined.
