MIMO radar images of a trihedral corner reflector for near-field measurement

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is of great research interest in recent years. The impacts of inherent bistatic geometry of a MIMO array on target images might be severe at short distances. This is due to the fact that each virtual element synthesized by a MIMO array cannot be considered as a mono-static transmit/receive element. In this paper, we study the characteristics of near-field MIMO images for a trihedral corner reflector like scattering mechanism which is sensitive to bistatic measurement geometry.
