Study on the influence of train control system on service quality of rail transit

As the proportion of rail traffic in urban public transport was getting higher and higher, people put forward more requirements on service quality of rail transit. A train control system that served as brain and nerves of the urban rail transit system decided whether the train is able to run safely and constantly on schedule with a high density, which was a key influencing factor for the urban rail transit service quality. The service quality that can be perceived by passengers was visible to them, however, the train control system is invisible to passengers. It is of great significance for urban rail transit service quality to establish the correlations between the invisible train control system and visible service quality. This work theoretically illustrated the correlations in an intuitive manner by innovatively introducing rail transit traffic flow as an intermediary for impacts of the train control system on rail transit service quality. The correlations between characteristic parameters of rail transit traffic flow and evaluation indexes of service quality was set up, and thus further the model to describe the correlations was developed by regarding rail transit traffic flow characteristic parameters as the bridge. The train control system could be optimized according to the passengers' feedback to transit service quality based on the established model.
