Time domain suppression scheme of narrowband interference based on narrowband OFDM power line communications

Narrowband interference (NBI) that exists in narrowband power line communications environment is the major bottleneck of further development and application for narrowband OFDM power line communication technology. Receiver synchronization is the biggest problem for narrowband interference on the power line communication system. Therefore, this thesis is based on narrowband OFDM power line communication system, studies the narrowband interference influence on power line communication system synchronization, and adopts a time domain suppression method based on LMS to eliminate the narrowband interference in narrowband OFDM power line communication system. It is generally known that the characteristic of narrowband interference is not easy to change. We firstly detect the narrow band interference frequency value point, then use time domain interference suppression scheme to process receiving signals at the receiver before system synchronization, and then remove narrowband interference effects on power line communication system. The simulation results show that, compared with frequency domain suppression method, time domain suppression scheme not only can effectively improve signal synchronization problem caused by the narrowband interference, but also greatly improve the BER performance of the system, further improve the reliability of the OFDM power line communication system.
