SRUP: The secure remote update protocol

Internet of Things, and other connected devices require secure mechanisms to facilitate the propagation of Command & Control messages to enable the remote management of the devices - including the ability to remotely perform software update on the devices. This paper introduces a new protocol designed to sit on top of the commonly-used MQTT protocol to provide a secure and confirmable mechanism to deliver such messages to remote Internet of Things devices.
