The reduction wattage of HID lamps and LED modules

The article presents an analysis of application of electronic control gears for discharge lamps (metal halide lamps and high pressure sodium lamps). It describes main advantages of using electronic ballasts for HID lamps, compared to conventional ballasts (magnetic). The results of measurements of basic electric and lighting parameters for HID lamps powered by electronic ballasts enabling power control are discussed. Furthermore, the article contains comparison of selected parameters related to power and control of LED modules and HID lamps.
