Optoelectronic integrated circuits for telephony/broadband passive optical (TPON/BPON) networks: design and experimental results

The objective of this work is to develop a high yield, process tolerant optoelectronic integration scheme and to apply this to circuits for optical subscriber access links. The advantages of using optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEICs) in such applications are potentially low cost, flexibility in optical circuit function and minimal size.
