Tunable wavelength emission of a 3-mirror vertical cavity surface emitting laser

There has been many publications on vertical cavity surface emitting (VC-SE) lasers'I2 for numerous applications in optical communications and optical signal processing. In this work, we report for the first time tunable wavelength emission from a 3-mirror VC-SE laser. The laser requires only one drive source and uniform wavelength tuning is achieved with the feedback from the third mirror in the VC-SE laser.
