Performance of multiuser diversity TAS-receive diversity system under channel Degradations

Channel variation is considered normal phenomenon in wireless communications. As a result the user downloading throughput capacity suffers due to variation of channel gains. Transmit antenna selection (TAS) with receiver diversity is utilized to enhance the data rate to users in such cases, while utilizing multiuser diversity gain to schedule data transmission to the user with the best channel. In this paper we report performance of a TAS-receive diversity system when the channel degrades from its assumed conditions. We consider a multiuser MIMO system with different receive diversity systems and explore how the user data rate may be maintained under channel degradations, for a scheduled user with the best channel using absolute and normalized SNR criterion.
