Beyond von Neumann: Brain-computer structural metaphor

Brain-inspired computer architectures have gained a lot of attention from computer scientists in the past few years, in an era where more improvements in performance, power, and scalability are increasingly becoming limited. In this paper, we develop a brain-computer structural metaphor where we raise some research questions to inspire computer architects to design efficient computer architectures in terms of the traditional performance metrics, or maybe in terms of new metrics that reflect the true nature of the future, inspired computing.
