Digital Testing -- Basics to Advanced Research Issues

This tutorial covers the basics of testing digital systems and also introduces some of the important cutting edge practices in the areas of VLSI testing. It assumes almost no prior knowledge in the area of testing. Thus the first part of the tutorial will help students, designers and faculty with little or no background in digital testing. The goal of the second part of the tutorial is to make the participants aware of state of the art practices and resulting research problems. Though, only a few research problems of the present day constantly changing VLSI field will be discussed at some length in. The objective of the tutorial is to whet the appetite of the advanced undergraduate students for VLSI testing by covering the basics of testing and to expose the graduate students and the faculty to the latest and state of the art testing research.
