Wave Propagation In A Switched Magnetoplasma Medium: Frequency-shifting

Many transient plasmas have a last rate of rise and slow decay. The rapid rise may be approximated as a sudden creation of the plasma medium. The main effect of switching the medium-on Is the splitting of the original (incident) wave into new waves whose frequencies are different from the incident wave frequency. The nature of these new waves (amplitudes, frequencies, power carried, damping rates) and the effect of various parameters (like the direction and strength of the static magnetic field, incident wave frequency) will be discussed.
