LIGHTNING research has been conducted for the past 13 years

by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, the General Electric Company, and the Ebasco Services, Inc., chiefly upon that portion of the Pennsylvania-New Jersey 220-kv interconnection circuit between Wallenpaupack and Siegfried, Pa. This 65-mile-long circuit is of aluminum-conductor steel-reinforced three-conductor horizontal-configuration steel-tower construction, having originally 14-unit insulation. Since 1932 the 28-mile section from Wallenpaupack to Bushkill has been called the Wallenpaupack tap, and the remainder constitutes part of the Siegfried-Roseland line.
