An analysis and design of the ferroelectric resonant trigger pair

THE CIRCUITS to be analyzed in this paper are the 2-branch series-resonant circuit shown in Fig. 1; and the 2-mesh, parallel resonant circuit shown in Fig. 2. There are several approaches for analyzing such circuits based upon developments by Duffing, Poincaré, Kryloff and Bogoliuboff and others.

The choice of one approach over another depends on the accuracy desired, the accuracy obtainable, and the exact problem confronting the analyst. It should be noted that all of the known analytical methods suffer from one inherent disadvantage: they produce solutions for only the case under consideration without any hint as to the totality of solutions available. A qualitative method, known as the topological approach, gives an over-all picture of the totality of solutions but yields no specific information on any particular case.3,5,6
