Technology *85: personal computers

When 32-bit microprocessor chips were introduced for workstations a few years ago, there was some talk of using them ultimately in personal computers - but it was hard to imagine what a single PC user would do with all that processing power. Today software developers are introducing some products that strain the available memory and processing speed of 16-bit high-end personal computers in anticipation of upgrades.
