For pt.I see ibid., vol.17, no.3, p.36-7 (1980). Since 1960, subscriber lines in France have become 100% automated. Digital conversion is increasing steadily and 30% of switching lines ordered in 1976 were digital. The advantages are low noise, switching versatility and a reduction in A/D and D/A conversion.
