An improvement to an analog-to-digital converter for differential transducers

An improvement to a paper recently published in this journal is described. The original paper shows how a quantity, measured by a pair of differential resistive transducers, can be converted into a time interval by incorporating the transducers in the integrator of a dual-slope analog-to-digital converter. Offset error is measured by using two dual-slope cycles. The improvement shows how the calculation of the offset can be avoided if the reference time of one of the dual-slope cycles is modified in accordance with previous measurements.
