Pump-Noise Transfer Mitigation in Parametric Sampling Gates

A new technique for pump-noise transfer cancellation in parametric sampling gates is presented. The method relies on simultaneous detections of the pump and the idler after the mixing process. The detected pump fluctuations are used to suppress the idler variations transferred during the parametric mixing process. An 11-dB improvement in idler electrical signal-to-noise ratio is demonstrated experimentally.
