Pre-feasibility study regarding implementation of a lightning detection system in Zambia

Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation Ltd (ZESCO) pays much attention to the hazard of lightning and is investigating the possibilities for installation of a lightning detection system (LDS) in Zambia. For proper system operation a number of technical as well as administrative questions must be considered in a prefeasibility study in order to establish the basis and the proper conditions for implementing and installing an LDS in Zambia. The most widespread and well-known LDS system is the electromagnetic lightning direction finding system of LLP Inc. of Tucson, Arizona.
