CO2 removal from natural gas by hydrate formation

High component of CO
₂
in natural gas is hazardous for the utilization of natural gas. Thus CO
₂
must be removed from natural gas. As one of the new separation technology, hydrate formation has more advantages than original technology. It can be carried out under milder conditions and it is wild range applicable. Moreover, the gas regeneration rate is higher while the process is shorter. However, as the study time is short, hydrate formation has high energy consumption which makes it less commercially attractive. In this study, we show the broad prospect of the utilization of this technology and put forward the future research direction.
