Metal-oxide nanowire sensors for CO detection: Charaterization and modeling

This paper concerns the characterization and modeling of single crystal metal-oxide nanowires (e.g. SnO
₂
and ZnO) used as CO sensors. In this work the performance of these devices when they are used with variable operating temperatures was taken into account. The aim was establishing a model to be used for the development of sensing systems working with programmed temperature protocols. In particular a model for the dynamic behavior of the sensors that is able to predict the sensor response during transients was developed and tested. The model can be exploited for the selection of optimum operating temperature profiles.
