NextGen performance: Agility, timeliness and linear scalability

The broker is an obvious and negative participant in a solution that requires high performance, high integrity, low latency, or cached data delivery. However, in order to keep the principal benefit of brokers-the agility provided by a SOA architecture-getting rid of the broker requires movement from an architecture consistent with a data-centric rather than a broker-centric model. We have looked at a couple of solutions to this challenge: RTI's DDS and Topia Technology's Kolona SBA. Both come with real-time, cross-domain, multi-level security features and will operate at levels not possible with the traditional Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) stacks.
