A Seminar Looking for Traces of History

Students need to overcome their reluctance in understanding how, and why, informatics has evolved as it has. Toward that end, the author developed a course-designed as a seminar-in which students were required to reflect on ideas presented in seminal papers and relate them to contemporary concepts in the respective informatics subdomain. This article describes the seminar's structure, methods, and goals.
