Design, Fabrication and Testing of a Millimeter Wave Slotted Waveguide Antenna

The ever-growing demand of higher data rates is pushing the modern wireless communication systems towards millimeter wave frequency band (30-300 GHz). At these frequencies the available bandwidth is much larger, resulting into increased data rates. Thus, there is a growing demand of efficient antennas operating at these high frequencies. This paper deals with the design of linear and planar resonant antennas at 38 GHz. Design is based on Elliot's formulation. HFSS (high frequency structure simulator) is used to simulate and tune the slot dimensions. Simulated and measured results are in good agreement.
