Analytical Investigation of Dynamic Instability Occuring at Powerton Station

An experience of dynamic instability was analyzed. The oscillations occurred on a large turbine generator that was operating radially on a long transmission line. The method of analysis was to determine stability by the calculation of the eigenvalues of the system.
