Bidirectional Repeaterless Transmission of 8x10 GE over 210 km of Standard Single Mode Fibre

We present experimental results on error free bidirectional transmission of 8times10 GE channels over 210 km of standard single mode fibre. Inexpensive XENPAKs, conventional C-band EDFAs and FBG dispersion compensating modules have been used. Our results are very promising especially for operators of research and educational networks
