Design process improvement (DPI)

The design process is an iterative procedure which refines the original design concept through a process of evaluation and test. The process can be expensive and inefficient in the use of resources and mistakes made during the process can lead to the product being over budget and late for the market. DPI is a computer aided analysis of the design process, which uses the IDEF functional architecture diagraming method to model the design process. The IDEF diagrams are then evaluated and scored to determine the changes required to improve the effectiveness of the design process.<
