The necessity to check consistency of expert knowledge explains the current form of fuzzy control

In the majority of fuzzy control systems, the rules (that describe an appropriate control u for given inputs x/sub 1/, ..., x/sub n/) are of the form "If A/sub 1/(x/sub 1/), ..., A/sub n/(z/sub n/), then B(u)". This is not the most general form of fuzzy control. In this paper, we show that this special form of the rules can be deduced from the necessity to check the consistency of expert knowledge.<
