The learning organization: the importance of adult education for technical communicators

The paper suggests that the fields of adult education and technical communication are converging. The birth of the information society has resulted in the development of a new kind of organization: the learning organization. The overriding importance of information is also creating the conditions necessary for the field of technical communication to achieve a new status. The paper discusses these trends, and suggests that technical communicators would be wise to become familiar with adult learning research.<
