Large f/sub 0/Q second order filters using multiple output OTAs

It is shown and verified experimentally that a multiple output nonlinearized operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) can be efficiently used for the practical implementation of very high selectivity Q (Q>100), high frequency second-order filters (f/sub 0/>10 MHz) with programmable f/sub 0/ and Q values in CMOS technology. Filter types presented are lowpass and bandpass. It is shown that with the proposed approach, filters with products f/sub 0/Q close to the maximum allowed by the technology can be synthesized. Experimental results of 2 /spl mu/m CMOS test-chip second-order filters with f/sub 0/Q=2 GHz are presented.<
