Comparison of methods for calculating the loading effect of capacitors on power ground planes

Two methods for evaluating the impedance of loaded power ground plane structures are compared. It is found that while one method is attractive in that it does not require a matrix inversion, it only provides an approximation solution for the loading effect. Furthermore, the approximation deteriorates as the values of the loading impedances are reduced
