Increment-Decrement Algorithm for Compact Circularly Polarized Antenna

Introducing leaky loss transmission line theory, a novel design method of circularly polarized antenna is proposed. The principle of this method is that two summations that are perpendicular to a complex vector component of currents are placed on the small strip conductors, of which each set represents an antenna structure, have equal amplitude and different phase by 90 degrees. To achieve efficient antenna design with Method ofMoment, a novel algorithm is developed. In this algorithm using an impedance matrix and its reverse matrix simultaneously, these matrixes are renewed by only one rank. Sample designs demonstrated the sizes of antennas with good axial ratio range in sizefrom a quarter to one eight the size ofone wavelength, i. e. less than a halfwavelength when a conventional antenna is used.
