Computer aided maintenance for distribution lines: an expert system approach of failure risk evaluation

The authors describe an expert system based on electrical network failures risk evaluation. This application is directed to give a sorted list of electrical distribution network components to repair or to renew, given a technological and environmental context for each component. After a presentation of the system, the authors detail the risk evaluation carried out by the expert system and compare it to classic reliability approach. Advantages of the expert system approach are underlined.<
