Anisotropy of the valence subbands in quantum well structures: effect on density of states characteristic

In this paper the effect of the anisotropy of the quantum well valence band on the density of states characteristic is studied. We revealed that the axial approximation is inapplicable to the quantum well structure as well as the neglecting of the band structure anisotropy leads to low accuracy.
