A bi-directional optical time domain reflectometry technique optimised for short LAN fibers

A process for constructing bi-directional OTDR traces is demonstrated that is better suited to the short fibers installed as part of local area networks (LANs). Reflections are eliminated from the processed trace and no fiber is obscured by dead zones.
